FYI: I also posted this listing on “that other” forum

The 1988 Isuzu Pickup LS just failed it’s safety inspection for a leaking front driver caliper and both lower ball joints having about 0.017 of play and needing replacement.

I’m done spending more time and dollars on this 38 year old truck that’s been driven less than 300 miles over the last 2 years .

A few years ago I would have had the time and temperament to try this job on my own, but given my aging body, lack of experience and appropriate tools, I know myself and it would not be enjoyable or rewarding.
If it was just the caliper I would give it go, but I don’t want to mess with ball joints. Paying market price for the job is a no go for me particularly since I know the truck isn’t getting any younger and new issues are always around the corner.

That being said, I have no idea what a fair price is, so all offers will be considered.
(I put $1,000 in the Price field since it need a number.)

The truck has 98,171 miles on it with a new Clearwater head replacement done at
76,720 miles over 10 years ago.

The truck has never been babied or abused and it shows it’s age. A friend of mine bought it new in 1988 and my son bought it from him in 2011 as his daily driver. For the last 5 years it’s been rarely used.

I’m happy to answer any particular questions anyone may have and send photos.
I also have detailed records of all the work that has been done over the decades.

Thanks,
Joe

Just fly out and drive it back. What’s the worst that could happen?

I just sold the truck  :frowning:

I’m not sure how to edit the listing to mark it as sold, but I did somehow manage to delete the photos I attached to thread.

Anyway, bitter-sweet day. My son and I had a lot of learning and bonding time over the last 15 years keeping this truck in usable

condition. Sold it to a nice young fellow who will hopefully keep in on the road…The old Neil Young song “Long may you run”

has been echoing in my head.
